A small village located in the wilderness at an altitude of 6956 ft, Lepchajagat. It takes its name from "Lepcha" meaning the indigenous inhabitants of the region, and "Jagat" symbolizing "world" or "domain". It's not a wildlife sanctuary or national park but a place taken over by WBFDC (West Bengal Forest Department Corporation) and turned into reserved forest area. Although Lepchajagat is only 19km away from the main town Darjeeling it still has the aura which gives sense of solitude and calmness.
